While gender neoclassical economics adopts a standard approach, often revised or extended, to handle with gender issues in economics, feminist economics deeply criticizes neoclassical economics and rejects it. The theory of marriage (focused on how families produce, allocate, and distribute their members’ resources within households) well represents a case study to understand the deep differences between the two approaches.
