This research proposal revolves around three main themes in the area of labor and finance:
- How do interactions with employees affect firm leverage? How does the latter affect employment and wages?
- Do firms provide insurance to their employees against adverse shocks? Does the extent of such risk sharing differ
depending on firm characteristics and institutional arrangements?
- Do employment contracts of managers affect their incentives to act in the interest of owners? Do these incentives differ between widely and closely held firms?
